Bio: Alex Echevarria is a Pennsylvania born painter and educator who recently relocated from Los Angeles to Oakland. He is currently a professor at Laney College teaching in the 2D area, including painting, drawing, and printmaking. Alex earned an MFA in Painting from Tyler School of Art at Temple University and a BS in Art Education and BFA in Painting from Kutztown University. His work has been exhibited nationally at museums and galleries, including the Philip & Muriel Berman Museum at Ursinus College, and the Woodmere Museum of Art in Pennsylvania. His paintings have been written about and featured in various publications including the Philadelphia Inquirer and New American Paintings. He has taught at numerous colleges and universities including Laney College, Tyler School of Art, Widener University, California State University Long Beach, and Otis College of Art and Design.
